Having just completed a quick run to JER to gain the extra 60TPs i needed, i am looking forward to seeing my membership upgrade to silver level imminently. I just had a couple of questions as i am planning to go to NY next weekend with my non-status friend, both in Y. We'll be on the same PNR. Grateful for any help.

1 - If i book now, before my silver status becomes official, can i assign seats for both my friend and i after my status upgrades on the website?

2 - Will we both get 2 pieces of checked bags or just me?

3 - Can we both use the priority boarding at the gate? I know from bitter experience how much the overhead bin space is at a premium in Y.

Thanks for any help. Looking forward to my first ever flight whilst holding some status with the airline. Let's hope i can notice some difference beyond getting hammered in the lounge.
