I'm Australian, as well, and I find the idea of leaving 10% "as standard" laughable. If the service has been exceptional, I'd consider it, but certainly wouldn't feel guilty leaving nothing (more importantly, I wouldn't be concerned on returning that I'd be ignored or have my meal tampered with).
