Hopefully you pointed out the damage at the time the car was returned to you. Good valet companies will always note existing damage before accepting a car for parking.
Read the liability terms on your valet ticket, if you still have it. Follow up with the hotel and with the headquarters of the company that runs the parking outfit.
Be prepared for some runaround, since they will likely ask you to take it up with your insurance company and then come back to them for the excess, and stuff like that.
Sorry to hear you had this problem - this is always one of my worst fears when valeting my personal cars. With rentals charged to the Diners Club, I don't care if they wreck the thing
