Fresh Newb here. I'm working out the details for my Maui honeymoon this June and the Alaska Air Signature Visa has peaked my attention with their companion fare offer. I read around on here and it seems like as long as I am buying my ticket (not awarded) I should be able to buy my fiance's ticket with the companion fare for $99+some taxes (no black-outs or sneaky catches). At $900+ per ticket this could be the best thing that has ever happened to me. A few questions though:
1) I wouldn't plan to use the Alaska Airlines card much after using it for my trip (I mostly fly along east coast). Other than having to pay $75 / yr. Do you see any problem with this? I have a good credit score, two other cards, and won't need to take out a loan anytime soon.
2) How long after I apply can I expect my companion fare coupon?
3) I see a flight on AS website that has one leg operated by AA. If I chose this itinerary would I be able to use my companion ticket?
4) Anything else I should know or that I am overlooking regarding the companion fare?
Thanks for your help. I think AS does referrals for their CCs so I can offer this to the first person who helps.

I just applied on their website and it was processing the request, I looked away and it was back to the main website. Does this mean anything as far as my acceptance/rejection? Will they notify me by e-mail whether it was accepted or not? The only reason I could imagine them rejecting me is because I just recently opened my Delta Skymiles card as well, but I didn't think that would weigh heavily on the computers decision.
