Trial begins for WA man who refused to show ID at Sunport

Opening statements kicked off Thursday afternoon in the trial of a Seattle man who made national headlines in Albuquerque. Phil Mocek is facing several charges after refusing to show TSA officers his ID at the Sunport and then video taping his altercation with officers.

The first witness to take the stand was the TSA officer who confronted Phil Mocek. He says Mocek shouldn't have been filming, because there were sensitive documents in the camera's view. Mocek continued to argue that it was his right to film in a public place, eventually arguing until police arrested him.

...
Usually when government employees don't want to be filmed, it's because their mistakes are being documented. It sounds as though the prosecution's TSA goon got the defense off to a great start.

Thanks for the update, Bruce.
