The jury selection process alone can take awhile. I've served on several juries in my state, and both sides interview and review the potential jurors. My guess is that this took up much of the morning, perhaps more. The trial itself could last another day, or more. The jury can take its time in deliberation, in one civil case in which I was a juror, we deliberated for nearly three days, after hearing arguments and testimony that lasted three days.

I wasn't referring to the outcome, but the environment of the trial - Judge Ito being an idiot, Marcia changing her physical appearance, etc etc. It was more show than criminal proceeding and the preening in front of the camera routine by everyone was quite evident.
Another potential problem with televising trials would be possible reactions of witnesses. They might ham it up. Or possibly be less likely to testify or cooperate if they knew that thousands could be watching their testimony.
