If it's down to BA and Oman, and there's no lingering FFP contamination in the decision process, then Oman Air wins hands down. Greater comfort, terrific service and (for me) an excellent schedule. And probably a better fare.
Yes and if the price had been the same I could have probably twisted their arm, but as it was the *A options
MS, LX and LH
all priced up about one to two thirds more expensive, had long connection times, poor overall schedules and accured either 0.0x, 0.25x or 0.5x miles.
TK was £30 cheaper than WY and would have earned 1.0x mileage but the schedule was similarly horrid; and having been through IST I'm not a fan of their lounge.
Overall the *A benefit would not have outweighed the discomfort and inconvinence.
