Actually, one would hope the students themselves could start some sort of protest. Back in my day, students had lots of time on their hands and riled up belief systems which frequently resulted in organized protests over various things (including civil liberties violations). I don't think students these days are that motivated, though. Is there a campus chapter of the ACLU there?
