Last year on occasion, i'd book last minute flights from LAX=>YUL and back. Direct flights and the ticket would be be around 300$ each way.
Now they have enforced the purchase two week prior or price is 847$ each way!
I booked it either way to see how many seats are open and it is the same as before around 70% occupied even a week in advance.

Any ideas how to bypass this and book at regular price without the two week prior notice? Is there a way to HOLD a ticket price?
