The rare phone agent that does tell you, is giving you wrong information. Maybe they don't look closely enough to realize, but when we look at the waitlist for NF space for example, all the names are in ALPHABETICAL order by last name. There is no way for us to sort it by status, booking code, etc. to get the current order in the res system. The only way would be to manually go through the PNR for EACH indiviual on the waitlist to make note of status and booking code, then compile it in order by hand. Plus throw in the problem of figuring out who tops who if status and booking code is the same. And then of course that list can and almost always does change as new people are added.
