Hilton timeshares are not a good value at retail price. As has been mentioned, you can buy them on the resale market for about a fourth of what they are selling them for, although I don't think you get the "Gold" status.

The New York timeshare properties are nice and reportedly a cut above other Hilton timeshare properties. But if you want to buy, buy resale.

And don't forget, there are very substantial maintenance fees. Many people are giving away their timeshares (not Hilton) just to get out from under these fees.
