Hmmm.. that's interesting Athena53. I also booked through Orbitz. Perhaps going through Orbitz the seat selection is only requested instead of going through the airline directly and getting confirmed seats.

And yes, my partner and I have different surnames but always make the one booking so the airline knows we are together.
