There is no "language that all people speak" in the USA. While the vast majority speak US English ("American" if you will) there is a sizable and growing contingent that does not. I see no reason to expect that they will learn it nor that they should. In the mean time, operating a business that respects that a large and growing portion of their customers speak a language other than English is a smart business move.

And making sure that they can safely evacuate the plane is good business for everyone on the plane.
