By "Amazon," you mean just Manaus? It's an awfully big region. I stayed at the Hotel Tripical over 15 years ago and enjoyed it, but the seletion of hotels in Manaus has undoubtedly changed. Have more recently stayed in Belem, which, like Manaus, is actually not on the Amazon but awfully close. We stayed at a basic, business hotel, with very small rooms, I wouldn't recommend.
