Ignoring all of the "noise" here why hasn't anybody mentioned that it was a HYBRID and didn't get very good mileage?

Also, jackal's advice re: CHECK THE FUEL GAUGE BEFORE LEAVING THE LOT is something I always do (in addition to my walkaround). This has saved me lots of $ over the years since it is very rare that I have a full tank before leaving. The attendant always makes notations on the agreement and I've never had a hassle upon returning.
