WARNING! Check your lifetime miles
Ever since I joined the FT community, I have been very diligent in keeping track of my miles on UA; but before then I did not have a clue about the concept of lifetime miles.
I trusted the "lifetime miles" number that we all see on the MP screen; until now...
Throughout last year, I knew (thought) my lifetime miles was about 550k ...but for some reason this number dropped to 450k.
I thought I was going crazy, seeing something that was not true.
I took the liberty of asking for a statement of my account; I asked for all activity within my account; this was about two weeks ago.
I just received the statement and it shows that I have 560k lifetime miles.
I called MP again...their response was that they can't help, since they have no access to the statement; "they can only see what is in their computers". I responded, "but, your computer generated a 560k lifetime miles - you don't think there is a discrepancy".
MP told me to contact customer relations and explain the situation. Now, I have to waste my time and contact customer relations to get this fixed. This is very frustrating.
Better check your lifetime miles or keep good records of your flight, since UA does not seem to be doing it.
