I too am sorry for the OP's experience. I would think that contacting the police agency involved in taking/recording the assault would be the first place I would go to get the actual report that was filed at, or after, the time of the assault.

Secondly, I wouldn't count on any payout from the hotel. They are not obligated to protect you and they have lawyers by the thousands to fight your lawsuit.

Lastly, I hope you obtain the report, identify the attacker and sue him or her directly as this seems the most appropriate response to a direct attack. If you were in a hotel, supermarket, retail store, subway, etc... it is nice to think that there may be security there to protect you -- but in no way is that implied in any of those situations (as far as I know)
