Depends which *A carrier. The difference with AC is that the others tend to release unsold premium class tickets as the flight date approaches. With AC, the initial allotment is all that is provided.
If you want to fly the entire family in J, you might have to split it up using different carriers or gateway cities.
The easiest example would be YYZ-LHR. You wouldn't find 4+ J tickets on the same flight - you would have to split it up among the different flights (or connect through YUL/YHZ) and meet up in London.
