triple miles with marriott rewards bonus?
Does it make sense to switch to triple miles (continental) bonus :
Earn triple miles on qualifying stays at any of the 3,300 participating Marriott® brand hotels between Feb. 1 and Apr. 30,2011, starting with your second stay.
I learned that depending on hotel you would earn either 1 or 2 miles:
onus miles calculated on Marriott Rewards base mileage offer of two miles per dollar spent on all qualifying charges at JW Marriott®, EDITIONSM, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® Hotels, Marriott® Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Vacation Club® brands; and one mile per dollar spent on room rate only at Courtyard by Marriott®, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott®, SpringHill Suites by Marriott®, Residence Inn by Marriott® and TownePlace Suites by Marriott® brands.
Then these 2 or 1 miles are multiplied by 3. So a stay at $150/night rate would net me a maximum of 900 miles, as apposed to :
150*10+50%+200=2450 marriott points.
The stays still count toward elite status.
Any opinions?
Thanks guys!
(PS I am Plat at marriott and Gold at CO)
