Thanks for the suggestion JALPak! Yes, I thought about this but do not know much about airport hotel accommodations. I might look into it, but as you say, wouldn't need much of the lounge services the next day then. But would get Y+ seating the next day which would be nice. I wonder if JAL would charge this as a stopover?
As long as this is within 24 hours, it is considered as a layover and you won't be charged the stopover fee.
