I think you're right about the product quality.
The prices I saw were the same for BA versus WY too, and since I object to having to pay for seat assignments or having to worry about the total pieces of baggage on a 'full service' airline (a la BA style) I've opted to try Oman Air.

Now I just need to figure out a way to check if my meal choice got applied to the booking - WY use Sabre and virtually there doesn't seem to mention this items.
