Well, my e-mail also said that I won't be affected
"Based on how frequently you currently travel and the tickets you generally purchase". Rather than believing this, I actually made the calculation (from a Brussels perspective as a passenger that only travels Brussels-London return).
These are the new price bands:
Compare this to the old price bands:
For ease of comparison, I calculated the new price bands on a returns basis equivalent:
It is obvious from this that there will be many tickets where earnings will be lower, and no tickets where the earnings will be better (there are no BRU-LON-BRU tickets above €570 and there are no BRU-LON-BRU tickets below €76).
For me, the change is quite severe. I looked at my tickets from 2010 and come to the following conclusion:
So instead of the 1700 points I earned in 2010, I would only have earned 1115 points (meaning that I would not have renewed my Carte Blanche!).
Only the fully flexible Business Premier tickets earn the same amount, for all other tickets I would only have earned half (or less!).
