I definitely agree with you JALPak. The one on the bottom less the tsurumaru in front would save some money and would look nice as well. Let them keep the arc of sun in the winglets as well. ^
My friend's son, who was born in 2003 and didn't see much of the old livery, will go on tantrums when he sees his favorite logo disappear. Whenever they are at Narita, he's always excited when he sees JAL planes.
