Exclamation It's OFFICIAL. JAL will switch back to Tsurumaru Logo with a modern touch

Update: Official press release with new livery: http://press.jal.co.jp/en/release/201101/001728.html

In stead of continuing on the other threads which are just rumors, I have started this thread as JAL official has officially confirmed about the logo change today. Yes the Tsurumaru logo will be back in April but with a change in the JAL font.

Japan Airlines which aims to complete corporate rehabilitation procedures by the end of March, has decided to revive its former crane logo to signal a fresh start.

The logo depicting a Japanese red-crowned crane in red and white with its wings forming a circular shape will be slightly updated for its reintroduction, with the "JAL" text element to be rendered in a new typeface, according to the airline.

Japan Airlines Corp. will revive its traditional red crane logo in April, JAL officials said Monday.

The airline wants to use the logo to symbolize its business rehabilitation efforts, they said.

..

"Many customers loved the round crane mark and requested a revival," a JAL official said.

By the way which one do you like more? Sun or Arc (current) or Tsurumaru (crane)?
