My $99 stay at the Westin Whistler (combined with a Free Friday) was very nice. As a Gold, I was upgraded to a large one bedroom corner suite (from the originally booked junior suite, which is not really a suite but one room with a kitchenette). As with my previous stay at this hotel, the service and entire experience was excellent.

The only issue I have with this hotel is that they do not offer a 4pm extended checkout to Gold members, even when the hotel is not fully booked. I knew that the 4pm checkout at resort properties is not a guaranteed Gold privilege, but the website says that it is "based on availability at some resorts". In fact, I was told explicitly by the front desk clerk that it is their policy never to offer a 4pm checkout. Lurker, are they following the rules?
