I think you should start to see deals (if they exist) in the next 1-3 months. I think the resorts wait and see how bookings are going before they decide to release these. Your plan of sitting on a halaveli reservation and changing it if something comes along outside of the 30 day cancellation window is a good one, I think. If I see something come up, I will update this thread. Since I may be in the Maldives in June, I am also looking for good deals (and like you, I would not stay in an OW villa without a private pool).
