Has anyone ever heard that before? Not sure where flight originated or if it was going somewhere international after SEA? You would think that if they are using aircraft for a few domestic trips they should still have wi-fi and then turn it off if using aircraft on an international route.
I've lost track of where DL is on updating these planes (if any), but this one was in serious need of a refurbish? No AVOD/IFE, had monitors from ceiling in economy and the one on our side of bulkhead went off when they started the movie but was on for safety video. Are any of those 767-300ER equipped with new seats or AVOD in economy?
It's a repositioning flight - it might only do a domestic flight once or twice over a month. Given the costs to install GoGo on a plane (I think it's in the 6-figure range per plane) and that it would rarely be used, the ability to directly recoup such costs would be difficult.
It is annoying that this is the case, and me and a friend have both felt the pain over the past couple of months.
A select handful of the planes have AVOD in Economy; these are primarily used on ultra-long 767 flights, such as to Cairo and Amman as these planes also have seperate bunks for pilot rest. The entire 767-300ER fleet will be refreshed over the next two years to include lie-flats in BusinessElite and AVOD in Economy.
