All I did so far was reply to the original e-mail for which I received that response. I then posted here to get advice from you guys since you've all had more experience with similar situations than me. Supposedly someone with my name booked the stay via expedia, and then the hotel somehow attached my account to it. Hopefully the guy got a nice free suite upgrade, but I'm more concerned because I keep a CC # attached to my SPG account as well. Do you think I should contact the hotel directly? Remove my CC # from my account? No points posted for the stay so I'm assuming nothing was charged to the card.
