Called BAEC US again - got through to someone more helpful this time. She insisted that it was the airport's Lost and Found office who would have it if it was found on the plane and she sent off a Telex (that the first time I've heard that word in years!) to the L&F office at Logan with my details.

I guess my chances are virtually zero. I once left an expensive bottle of whisky in the overhead locker and, not suprisingly, that was never seen again(!)

Fingers crossed. I suppose it should be a lesson to double check the seat and locker before leaving.

It's hardly worth claiming on insurance either what with excesses and lost no claims discounts.
