From my own experience the AMS team runs a pretty tight operation - the synergies and cross-advertising between the AMS property and the Pulitzer are very well designed. For overseas visitors, check out the special deals involving museum tickets, stay and dinner; they seem quite good (but have never tried personally, so check first).

If Marc is reading this, he should consider allowing the royal suite for upgrades for regular guests, it gets boring staying in X56 (756, 356, 456...!) all the time .
