Contact them again and ask them to give you gold. Point out that the the BA silver benefits versus BD gold. Worst they can say is no.

That was very fast, thank you very much. As i pointed out on my first mail there are different benefits for BA silver members and for BMI silver members, My BA silver membership gives me more benefits than BMI silver does, also will provide me with those benefits to all of their alliance members, as i pointed out my gateway from UK will be BMI but i will have to do more flights with other members of your alliance.
Also the lounge access which is the most important benefit will be provided only for flights originating from UK, i will not have any lounge access for my return trip.

I wrote the above benefit comparison as i don't want you to assume that i am asking for more, i only want to have exact the same benefits that my current membership with BA is giving me.So, please consider to match my status as BMI Gold.
