Only been to Madrid and was at the Westin Palace. This place is truly spectacular. Interestingly, the Platinum upgrade rooms are located on lower floors. This is done so that you can just hop down a quick flight of stairs and be out the door instead of waiting 2 minutes for the elevators, which are a little slow.
I was upgraded every time I stayed there to a room facing the main road and fountains - it was great.
Platinum amenity is also great. Upon checkin, there was a big plate of Jamón Iberico (Spanish Ham) garnished with cherry tomatoes and breadsticks. There was also a 1/2 bottle of Rioja Crianza (Spanish red wine) waiting for me in the room.
Staff is great and the location can't be beat. It's within walking distance of Puerta del Sol, which is the heart of Madrid.
Hotel has its own website at
http://palacemadrid.com which is separate from Starwood's site.
You're gonna love it.
