The 2x3x2 on the 773 doesnt bother me at all, i have never ended up in a middle seat and there is no reason you should with advanced seat selection.

In this instance I would go with the flight that was more convenient to my schedule. I prefer the afternoon departure when going to Bangkok as my final destination as I enjoy the service, watch a couple of movies and get to bangkok in time for a good nights sleep.
