Hi all. Go easy on me - Im tip toeing into the land of the unknown.
We (my wife and myself) are heading to the US for a vacation. We are doing QA Biz, DPS - JFK and return, for the month of July.
Before paying for the airfare, we both joined the Privledge Club and will earn Qmiles. Qmiles were just a bonus - the win was flying with a world class airline.
Home, is Western Australia. Qatar doesn't have a service to this side of Aus, we both still work and are unlikely to make use of earned Qmiles. I suppose the point I'm making, is that weekenders aren't possible, and by the time annual leave comes up again, the points will probably have evaporated.
Now the question/s. Once in the US, we will do a couple of weeks East Coast, then fly across to the West Coast, before returning to JFK, on the day of our international departure.
Can points/Qmiles be used to upgrade flights on United/US Air ?
How many points are we talking about ?
Any other way of obtaining value out of earnt points ?
