My feeling is the airlines "pad" their schedule so if a flight leaves the gate late somehow it miraculously gains time in flight and still manages to get to the arrival city on time. I don't mind leaving late if Im getting there close to on time. I'm more concerned that Im at the airport whether a flight is leaving on time or not.
