Speaking of AMS, there is a 100% customs control for drugs on all flights arriving from "high risk" Caribbean countries. Without wanting to offend any Surinamese, let's just say it was a huge problem before. It's, erm, interesting to see flights arrive from there. Bus to arrivals, queued up one at a time so that each busload can be controlled, then seemingly every customs officer at Schiphol at baggage reclaim. There has been a huge backlash against this from the Dutch-Caribbean community, but the Central Bureau for Statistics has the facts, and if it's all about allocation of resources and acting on intelligence...well...
