Have you received an e-mail confirmation? Does it include the PNR of both AA and BA? If so you could try to bring up the booking in ba.com. I'm no expert when it comes to PNR and I guess AA uses Sabre while BA is on Amadeus.
As you are a BA Silver and AA Plat you should for sure be able to preselect seats.
