There are two components to a flight: departure and arrival.

Either of them can be delayed, but are both of them important?

What constitutes a delay? A late departure, late arrival, or a combination of both?

Personally, I'd rather spend more time in air taxing than sitting on the tarmac and consider a flight delayed if I waste my time waiting for the plane to leave the airport.

But after a conversation I had last night, I was surprised to learn that most people don't share that perspective.
