JER ... they deal with grockle 85% of the time, and they're a bit detached. Polite, but hardly welcoming sometimes. But then they don't work for BA.
LGW ... superb. I have never had anything other than helpfulness at LGW-N from BA staff. 9/10
LHR ... excellent as well. Never any problem, and when we were flying last May after the ash, and during the strikes, they couldn't have been more helpful. 8/10
IAD ... mixed reactions. Some are nice, some are a bit 'casual'. However, I don't want to sleep with any of them, so I just want them to process us and our bags quickly and politely ... that they usually do. 7/10
What are we expecting from these hard-working people?
I agree with you about the JER check in staff, at times they can seem a little vacant but are normally quite efficient. The LGW staff are normally excellent but we did have one member of staff who got my Dad very cross. We were coming back from ANU and had not checked bags through as we were on 2 bookings (still should have let us anyway, they normally do) and got very cross with us as one of our bags was 25kg and the other was 21kg- this was before we had status so it was the one bag pp rule. This is normally overlooked by most check in staff and you can see why! We managed to get through JER,LGW and ANU with the bags like this and it was just coming back where we had to completely re-arrange our luggage at the bag drop.
This sour faced woman still kicked up a fuss when we got them down to 24kg and 22kg, at this point we really lost it with her! We had just got off an overnight flight, when we were stuffed into row 37 with a lot of turbulence. After a lot of arguments with her she eventually gave in- never had anything like it since. At the CE/CW desks they will do anything for you, another well done for LGW.
