I know this has been sorta of asked in the past but I just want to make sure with the updated information.

I have a flight issued by UA but the first leg of the first segment to the destination is operated by AC (thus AC metal).

I will be flying from YYZ.

Does the baggage policies of UA or AC apply? In terms of dealing with UA or AC, who do I deal with for things like standby, cancellations etc.

This was booked through a Travel Agent. The travel agent was sure that if it's UA issued, then UA baggage fees apply.... I will be lucky if when I check in (to UA counter?) that they forget about it or ignore it???

I saw on Expedia for the same flight and the baggage information indicator says $0 dollars on the way there.

Would I be able to get AC issued for the same price, for the same flights or are there usually a price difference in that AC charges more tax?
