Obviously with all the ski gear my hope is the bags just go straight through, but would like to know what to expect.

Luggage can be painfully slow at YYZ - connecting to the US it took 40minutes for my luggage to come to the US connection area. On the way back into Canada it was a good 30 minutes. Saturday will probably be a bit busier day for customs/immigration as well. You'll probably make your connection but without much in the way of spare time.
