Not in my experience.

Flying UA (crediting to CO) LGA-ORD gets me 733 miles, while (without bonus miles) EWR-ORD gets me 719 miles.

NW gave me 509 miles for DTW-JFK and 501 miles for LGA-DTW (back in 2009).
