I just use multi-coloured straps on my case...and so far, so good (though have probably tempted fate for my upcoming trip to EZE)

My case is wine red, hardsided...and is 'dressed' with 3 straps...1 x bright lime, 1 x cerise & yellow check and 1 x bright aqua blue. To make sure they do not go walkies, they are intertwined with each other & through the handles, so they should stay put (hopefully).

I also have a bright orange TSA lock too which sticks out like a sore thumb against the dark red of the case.
