I bet no one would think so. When you can connect in less than 5 hours the shortest and in addition there are 5 connecting flights ahead of yours, I dont see any point for any airline to do so. If it is some kind of problem with the airline, I would say it's reasonable. But in your case, I am sorry to say I dun see any point.

But yea, do enjoy your stay there in Hong Kong. Head into the city, that 40 hours can be hell lots of fun and you will definitely demand a longer one!
