It is worth mentioning, if you haven't been to Athens since the Olympics, that it has a brand new international airport and a new metro link running directly from the airport into the city. All very, very easy.

There is also a Sofitel in the airport for an easy immediate turnaround. However, if you haven't been to the New Acropolis Museum which opened last year, then this is DEFINITELY worth a visit.

This is my review of the A380 F suites http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...highlight=a380 To quote myself:

"Highlights [of A380 EK F] include:
* a surprisingly nice, newly built, lounge in T3. No great shakes as far as newspapers or mags go, but a computer offering on par with the F lounge in T5 and better food that the T5 F lounge (this lounge is also used by J pax on Emirates. I haven't been in the Concorde Room at T5 yet so cannot compare with the food offering there. No spa with EK).
* boarding directly from the EK lounge at LHR. At no point do you merge with the plebian crowds in Y! (Concorde used to do this, for oldtimers on here, hence the name 'Concorde Lounge' as it used to be in T4)
* free flowing Dom Perignon 2000 throughout the flight, with some other excellent wines as well. I think I must have got through a bottle of Dom.
* and, when your glass is empty, someone comes round to fill it up. Someone who acts like a proper wine waiter, as opposed to someone handing out drinks at a school PTA meeting.
* the TV - HUGE! Bigger than our second TV at home! A flat touch-sensitive screen that takes up the entire front wall of the suite. You have never seen a plane TV like it
* and noise-cancelling headphones, of course!
* the 3 cameras showing excellent quality shots from the nose, tail and underbelly
* excellent toiletries, including a Bulgari set which includes a 30ml EdT, body lotion and aftershave
* the most astonishing bathroom you have ever seen on a plane. I've lived in places with smaller bathrooms than this. Until you see the photos you won't believe how big it is. Huge loo, the shower, space to hang your clothes, a tray containing even more toiletries, drawers full of combs, razors, toothbrushes etc
* and a toilet attendant! She rushes in to clean up after you've finished!
* good food inc Iranian caviar - Ms Raffles had two plates ...
* fantastic AVOD which worked perfectly. Over 200 films and 200+ CD's.
* yes, I repeat, fully functioning AVOD
* an at-seat mini bar, although more of a novelty than anything else and only with soft drinks
* a tiny F bar for F pax at the front by the showers, and of course you can go down the back and visit the huge J bar
* the ceiling is impregnated with hundreds of tiny LED's. When the lights are dimmed, the LEDs light up to give the impression of the night sky. Lovely."
