Hello, I know how frustrating this feels but as to your question, I think it all depends on what you call 'recently'. As you probably heard, massive weather problems across Europe in late December meant that all European hubs had thousands and thousands of stranded bags. As a result, in the days that followed, in case of luggage problem, spare capacity was fully taken by bags that had been stranded for very long and 'newly misplaced' bags undoubtedly suffered a lot. This is in no way AF-specific but equally affected all other airlines operating from European hubs. So while it does not make your experience any less unpleasant, I think that at least explains if your flight was, betwen 20 December and, say, 5-6 January when the overload of lost bags was mostly taken care of.
