I've eaten there, and Melbourne has it beat; so it is best noodles outside of China and Melbourne

I've been told that the reason MEL has such fabulous chinese food is that during the cultural revolution a dozen imperial trained chefs managed to escape china and were helped by a chinese restaurateur to come to Melbourne, where they mentored lots of chinese cooks. A strange beneficiary of Mao's legacy in purging capitalist and imperialist influences, such as good noodles.
