Sudden and big increase in taxes/surcharges from YYZ to GLA or EDI

I was searching EC miles redemption from YYZ to GLA earlier today in CW.

A dummy booking showed total taxes/and surcharges at 562.00 CAD approx.

Tonight same dummy booking showed total surcharges at 757.00 CAD!!!!

I think what may have happened is they are now tonight charging the ex-UK taxes/charges in CAD rather than GBP. Earlier they the ex-UK taxes/surcharges were priced in GBP, which right now has a very favorable exchange rate.

Is this possible? Fair? Any recourse?

I mean seriously - 432.00CAD for fuel surcharge!!!

This recent increase/chaneg adds almost 600.00 for a family of 3. Brutal. After the recent LHR snow debacle, who the freak would voluntarily fly through LHR .
