That's why at the DO on a very slow Sunday the GAs still had to work their butts off to get the flights out. There's hardly enough slack in to handle non-weather IROPS at ATL. People need to stop making excuses for DL. There are things they can't control like WX, plowing, etc. But there are things they can control, like having a contingency plans for the well known gate issues in ATL.
I saw a perfect example of what is wrong with ATL today.
My outbound flight was due to leave at
8:47 AM.
According to the GIDS, the next flight scheduled to arrive into that gate was at
8:48 AM.
Brings back memories of the
I Love Lucy episode where she is working on an assembly line packaging candy. She gets a little but behind, and it is downhill from there. She ends up trying to put candy anywhere she can.. She eats it. She conceals it in her clothing. But the candy just keeps coming down the assembly line towards her.
Problem is, with a 757, you can't stuff into your clothing.
