Best I was able to find was around USD 8750 with Delta, but I'm not familiar with them at all. I dont want China lines...so thats out of question...but if anyone can find some great deals with Cathay, Korean, Asiana, JAL it would be much appreciated.
Look at a Oneworld Circle Pacific, 26,000 mile tier. Prices at HKD47,340 plus tax, say US$6100 or ~$6600 or less with tax. A legal route would be something like HKG CX JFK AA LAX QF AKL QF SYD CX HKG (just under 23,000 miles, so if you have time you could add some extra stops in N. America, Australia/NZ, or Asia. Decent mileage and status-earning en route too.)
